UNIVOLS: A European Partnership for Preventing Violence in Higher Education

We are delighted to announce that Sürdürülebilir Eğitim ve Sağlık Akademisi Derneği (SEHA) has become a key partner in the newly approved Erasmus+ KA220-HED project, UNIVOLS – Études universitaires sur la violence pour la prévention et la résilience, coordinated by Association Les Militants des Savoirs (France).

UNIVOLS: A European Partnership for Preventing Violence in Higher Education

We are delighted to announce that Sürdürülebilir Eğitim ve Sağlık Akademisi Derneği (SEHA) has become a key partner in the newly approved Erasmus+ KA220-HED project, UNIVOLS – Études universitaires sur la violence pour la prévention et la résilience, coordinated by Association Les Militants des Savoirs (France).

The UNIVOLS project aims to establish an interdisciplinary academic framework on violence studies across Europe. The initiative will develop innovative curricula, digital tools, and policy dialogues addressing domestic, digital, adolescent, and extreme violence through the combined perspectives of social sciences, health, education, criminology, and digital technologies.

🎯 Project Objectives

UNIVOLS will build an innovative European curriculum on violence prevention and resilience, focusing on:

  • Developing 10 modular courses for higher education institutions.

  • Establishing a digital collaboration platform for educators and researchers.

  • Conducting policy dialogues and training programs to strengthen preventive practices.

  • Promoting micro-credentials for learners to validate their achievements.

  • Creating a transnational network that fosters exchange of knowledge and best practices among universities and NGOs.

🌍 SEHA’s Role in UNIVOLS

As the Turkish partner, SEHA will bring its expertise in education, health, and community-based violence prevention. Based in Batman, SEHA has a strong background in developing educational programs on mental health, digital literacy, and social inclusion. In UNIVOLS, SEHA will:

  • Contribute to the development of educational modules on digital and youth violence.

  • Conduct local workshops and awareness campaigns engaging young people and educators in Eastern Türkiye.

  • Lead community-based dissemination efforts through national and regional networks.

  • Ensure gender equality and inclusion are embedded in project activities.

🗓️ Project Kick-off

The Kick-off Meeting will be held in Toulouse, France, from 22 to 24 October 2025, hosted by the coordinating organization, Association Les Militants des Savoirs. Representatives from all partner institutions will attend to finalize the project roadmap, work package distribution, and monitoring plan.

💬 Long-term Impact

UNIVOLS envisions the creation of a European hub for violence studies, integrating academic research, digital tools, and social initiatives. The project’s results will support universities, educators, and policymakers in addressing violence-related challenges within educational contexts.

For SEHA, participation in UNIVOLS represents a strategic step in expanding its European cooperation network and in reinforcing Türkiye’s contribution to the global dialogue on education, peace, and resilience.
