DIGIDEM is designed to strengthen digital literacy, democracy skills, and civic engagement among young people in Europe. It tackles misinformation, promotes critical thinking, and builds safe spaces for online participation. The project combines non-formal education, digital tools, and policy dialogue to empower youth and youth workers.

Work Packages (WPs) Overview
WP2: Netizensphere
A digital platform to host discussion forums and youth debates. It integrates AI-supported features to guide moderation and analyze discussions. The platform will measure critical thinking depth and provide evidence for impact. MDS has the largest budget here, as they lead development and ensure academic quality.WP3: VR & AR for Civic Learning
Focuses on immersive tools (virtual & augmented reality) to make learning about digital democracy engaging. IPS is highlighted for technical expertise. Although the project is in higher education, there is also a correctional/prison environment perspective to widen impact and inclusion.WP4: Wider Implementation
Expands DIGIDEM results into different educational contexts, including possibly correctional education, showing how digital citizenship skills are transferable across environments.WP5: Cybersecurity & Dissemination
Includes training modules on cybersecurity as part of digital skills workshops. Also covers national dissemination events, which can be organized onsite, online, or hybrid.
